Chunk'n Pumpkins

   Pumpkin Chunkin!

 

Your unit is invited to Join Pack and Troop 348 for a fun filled day hurling pumpkins.  The hurling will begin at 12 noon at Sinkland Farms in Riner, on 10/31/09. The event will have two classes. Cub Scouts will build and shoot small pumpkins from an appropriately sized machine. Webelos and Boy Scouts will work together to building larger engines. Use your imagination to build the best machine possible, but be sure to follow the rules. The following web sites may be useful in building your engine.

Rules:

1.     Adults are to handle all loading of the engine.

2.     Only the scout pulling the trigger will be allowed to approach a loaded engine.

3.     The base of Cub Scout machines will be no taller then 5’ and will hurl ~ 1.5# pumpkins

4.     The base of  Webelos / Boy Scout Machines will be no taller then 15’ hurling a 4# pumpkin

5.     No compressed air machines will be allowed.

6.     Machines may not use a propellant (gun powder, hair spray, WD-40)

7.     Machines must be portable, set up will begin @ 9:00am on 10/31

8.     Two test shots will be allowed prior to the competition.

9.     A $5.00 fee will be charged for each machine entered (to pay for trophies)
